Love Etc.
Love Etc. is a witty, poignant and humorous exploration about the universal stages of love, depicted through five real stories over the course of one year in New York City. Young, old, gay, straight–everyone has experienced love–and the joy and frustration that come with it. From teen romance to a decades-long marriage; newlyweds to a recent divorcee, and even a bachelor so frustrated in his search that he chooses to have children without a partner, Love Etc. documents the intimate journeys of engaging characters aged 18-89 who reflect the city's diversity, and takes an honest look at life's most challenging pursuit.
Love Etc. began with a concept from Executive Producer Jonathan Tisch, inspired by the day he spent waiting in line, with his fiancée Lizzie, for their marriage license at the City Hall Marriage Bureau. Surrounded by an incredible diversity of couples, they saw that everyone there was united by a common hope and belief in love. This room was a microcosm of the city, and New York City was a microcosm of the world.
The film is the winner of the documentary audience choice award at the 18th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival. The film was also an official selection of the 23rd International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and has been showcased in festivals around the world.
Love Etc. was acquired for distribution by Paladin and was released in theaters in July 2011. The film was also acquired by OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and was a featured documentary on her network.
New York Says Thank You
New York Says Thank You is an epic American story about the efforts of the New York Says Thank You Foundation. The New York Says Thank You Foundation is a national disaster relief organization created in 2003 when a 5-year-old boy from New York City posed a simple idea to his father. Young Evan Parness wondered if there were a way to say "thank you" to the millions of Americans who demonstrated extraordinary compassion and unwavering support to New Yorkers forever affected by the devastation of 9/11.
This full feature-length documentary begins when the New York Says Thank You Foundation volunteers set out to rebuild American communities affected by natural or man-made disasters. On each trip, the film's characters grow in size and spirit bringing hope to their fellow citizens
New York Says Thank You, which made its premier at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival, takes us on a journey of one of the greatest 'pay it forward' movements in our country's history.
To observe the 10th anniversary of 9/11, FOX Television Stations presented New York Says Thank You. The film made its broadcast television debut on FOX-owned MyNetworkTV affiliates the weekend of September 11, 2011.
